Much attention is paid to business start-ups, but the growth of successful young businesses is at least as important. It is often these scale-ups that create jobs and high productivity. This lecture will discuss the challenges of growth and how young and small enterprises become big tigers.

Tom Mom
Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University
Prof. dr. Tom Mom is a professor at the Rotterdam School of Management in Strategic Growth and Implementation. Besides that, Tom is active as academic director of the university's Executive-MBA program. His research was published in various renowned journals and is focused on strategy implementation, corporate growth and strategic renewal. Tom obtained a PhD in Strategic Management and a Master's degree in both Strategic Management (Cum Laude) and International Management (Cum Laude).
Sascha Fürst
EGADE Business School
Research Professor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at EGADE Business School, Tecnologico de Monterrey, in Mexico. He holds an affiliation as researcher in international entrepreneurship with Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku in Finland. In addition, he is a visiting lecturer at the University of Tübingen in Germany teaching business in the context of Latin America.
